Senior Tax Preparer

The Opportunity      

We are looking for a Senior Tax Preparer who thrives working on a variety of unique, complex cases with a team. This position is located in the Portland office along the Willamette River.

We’ve made 7 acquisitions and grown from a team of 2 to15 people in four offices. With you on board, we intend to continue the trend.

Position Summary

This is a full time position preparing partnership and corporate tax returns.

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work with Tax Manager to ensure returns are complete, accurate, timely, and government ready.
  • Communicate with clients via email and phone to clarify information and resolve questions.
  • Actively participate in workflow of assigned projects. Monitor prioritization, status, and completion.
  • Understand the implications of project changes and work with clients and senior staff to adjust scope, schedule and cost.

We offer health care benefits, 401K, vacation, and professional development. Salary range $65- $75,000.

Requirements and Experience: 4 years tax preparation

  • Proficient with Ultra Tax and CS professional suite (or similar) and a QuickBooks power user.
  • Comfortable in paperless, cloud-based systems and capable of quickly researching tax questions.
  • An excellent communicator who hears what’s important to each client.
  • A self-starter able to make decisions and prioritize information to get things done!    
  • A life-long learner who is coachable and committed to being at the top of your game.

  • A four-year degree
  • Skills in addressing complex tax issues, proficiency applying tax rules to produce most favorable results for the client.
  • Licensure as Enrolled Agent, Licensed Tax Consultant, or CPA  
  • A business background, supervisory experience, and emotional maturity.
